Volume 1, Issue 1

David Lee grew up in Hastings, Michigan.  He worked in a local greenhouse and installed sprinkling systems and landscaping.  His junior year he spent a summer working at a local camp were he helped build and maintain the camp.  After high school he attended Lansing Community College where he studied architecture and worked for the architectural department on campus.  People in the community would call into the department looking for students to do drawings for remodeling projects and small additions.  He started a student based drafting service.  This continued all through school and the two largest projects were a $150,000.00 home addition and a three-month project at Auto Owners Insurance Company.

Upon completing his first two years of college David was chosen to participate in a nine-month work-study program in Otsu, Japan for Lansing Community College where he studied Japanese language, politics, business, business management, and architecture.  He returned to Michigan to work for a design build company that designed and built miniature golf courses.  This business was a unique concept that also earned him college credit.  There were three people in the company and at night they would draw up plans and the next day they would be on

For the past four years Leeward Group’s growth has come from our existing customers referring new customers to us.  We have decided to start a new program that rewards our current customers for these referrals.  What this means is that for every new customer that you refer you will receive credits towards your own projects saving our current customers money.  This program is design to do two things, first of all it is our way to say thank you for helping us grow.  We feel it is a compliment to have current customers tell their friends about us.  Second it is a way to insure our growth as we bring on more people and begin to offer more products and services.  The best referral is for you to call me with a person’s name and number, however if someone does call us make sure they mention your name.

What’s Happening Now

Leeward Group has joined two other companies to help market our services.  We have called this joint group Lifetimes.  Dave Smith with Home Instead and Christy Morey with Life 2 Life Transitions. We will be doing educational talks to different organizations throughout Mid Michigan.  What we have determined is that we are talking to the same clients and our distinct different services compliment each other.  Leeward Group takes care of property as Home Instead takes care of the person.  Life 2 Life Transitions help our mutual clients with organization and downsizing and assisting clients and their families with moving when that time comes.  I will be posting these events on our web site as they come up.
